In 1958, the year the foundation was established, Dr. Jost Henkel wanted to celebrate his 25 years of service in an unusual way. Arising from his personal convictions and social awareness, he founded the Dr . Jost Henkel Stiftung for the purpose of providing economically disadvantaged young persons an opportunity to gain the best possible education.
Despite being highly talented, children from low-income families were often unable to start an academic education because their families did not have the necessary financial resources .
Since then, his wish has been fulfilled a thousand times over. For more than 50 years, the foundation has provided support for young people seeking higher education.
The support program is in principle open to students from all disciplines. Economics, social sciences, natural sciences and engineering are preferred fields of study. The proximity to Henkel as an international enterprise ensures practical relevance and in-depth insight into modern business, research and management processes.
